EA E3 2012 Press Conference

Coverage of EA’s press conference from E3.

Following up after Microsoft EA threw down what they had at to show today at E3.

Dead Space 3 was leading the charge of software titles. Similar gameplay but with a new a snow planet environment, a new character named John Carver and new gargantuan monsters. Also a fellow gamer can drop-in during a single player game so both gamers can experience fear and panic together.

Next we saw the Infinity Engine at work during the Madden NFL 12 demo. It enhances the realism and collisions between players. A new career mode will be featured along with it’s own in-game twitter posts for the players.

Facebook will be getting a new Sims game called Sims Social. While the next PC installment to the series was announced with a video and a multiplayer feature.

Speaking of multiplayer Battlefield 3 Premium was introduced a subscription service similar to Call of Duty: Elite. It has add-on packs and each one is centered around an aspect of the game. Motorcycles are available for use. BF3 Premium is out for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC this week.

EA then announced new PVP war zones, new level caps, playable races and a new planet for Star Wars: The Old Republic.

The demo to Medal of Honor: Warfighter was next powered by the Frostbite 2 engine. The locations will be real conflicts all over the world and the demo took place in Somalia as forces invade fighting pirates. The engine does the game justice from particle effects to lighting. The game will now feature 10 different tier1 units from around the world.

Fifa 13 was the next demonstration using the player collision featured in Madden 13.

The big news from EA Games was that they buried the hatchet with UFC and will develop future UFC titles.

Next up Criteron showed the next Need For Speed title. After the success of remaking Hot Pursuit they listened to the fans and showed the demo to the make of Need for Speed: Most Wanted. The open world racer that raced to climb up the underground network and avoid the law at the same time.

The press conference ended with a demo of Crysis 3. More warfare in the urban jungle
