PS5 Price and Release Date Revealed
After last weeks Microsoft leak and reveal of the X Box Series S and the price for the Series. All eyes were on Sony this week during Playstation Showcase for a price reveal and lineup of more AAA titles.
The PS5 will be $399 for the Digital Edition and $499 for the HD Blu-Ray Drive both devices will be available November 12. Preorders are available at select retailers others will be available soon.
Pricing for first-party titles are increasing across the board to $69.99. It’s been debated and some third-party companies stated they’ll increase to that price earlier this summer.
The following titles will be available at launch:
- Astro’s Playroom
- Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
- Demon’s Souls
- Destruction All Stars
- Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition
- Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
- Marvel’s Spider-Man: Mile Morales Ultimate Edition
- Sackboy A Big Adventure
Xbox Series X | S Preorders live Sept 20
Previously announced that the Series S and X will be released November 10th, the preorders will go live September 20th at 8am locally for most regions, in the US 8am PT.
Retailers who break the pre-order embargo will be penalized by having less units available.
Trump administration probing companies partnered with Tencent
According to Bloomberg, (CFIUS) the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States has sent letters to Riot and Epic Games inquiring about their data collection policy. Earlier this year the administration sanctioned WeChat and recently issued an order to remove TikTok from online stores and shutting down the app after November 12.
Tencent owns League of Legends and 40% ownership of Epic Games, Activision parted from Tencent earlier this month due to fears of executive orders against Tencent as one of the reasons.
As of now. it is seems this is an investigation in security policies but further actions may happen down the road.
